Shakermaker

Description

“Shakermaker” was the subject of a lawsuit after Coca-Cola noticed that the band had directly lifted the melody (and some of the lyrics) from its jingle “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.” In the end the courts ruled that Oasis had to change some of the words.

“We ripped it off, so they had the right to sue us,” says Arthurs. “Fair enough. People will steal from other bands but change the lyrics. We just did the same thing but kept some of the same lyrics in.” He pauses. “We drink Pepsi now.”
